The THRIVE Project is a partnership between WWIN and We Make Culture CIC. Over the next 18 months, the organisations will work together to explore the impact of embedding music-making activities in domestic abuse settings. The aim of the project is to create positive, hopeful experiences for children, young people and mothers who have survived domestic abuse and to utilise the wellbeing boost that music-making can bring.

A range of music sessions, working with babies to teenagers, will be delivered in WWIN family refuge and outreach settings, with the types of session guided by the interests of the children and young people taking part. The project will also include training and research into what impact creative activity has on participants, practitioners and WWIN specialist support workers in domestic abuse settings.

THRIVE project is funded by Youth Music and builds on previous creative projects between the two organisations, including the Rising Up project which worked with adult domestic abuse survivors in WWIN’s Recovery Unit in 2022. The co-created song and animation were released on International Women’s Day 2022.
